Raven Spirit comes alive with the Cheerleading and Dance Teams at MH-MA. Both of our squads continue to win awards and catch the attention of crowds everywhere. Our teams are classy, fun, and enjoyable to watch. You can catch the squads in action during all football and basketball games.
The dance and cheer programs are dedicated to the practice of charity and to the development of talent, leadership, and community spirit. The teams serve the community by working at the Bob Goalby Golf Tournament, the 500 Club Hamburger Feed, and other events and charities. “When girls come to me, I don't only want to make them a better cheerleader, but I want them to be a better person,” says head coach Teresa Lanfermann, “I want to instill in them to be thankful and to give back to others.”
Head Coach:Teresa Lanfermann (3rd year dance, 10th year cheer)
Teresa Lanfermann has been coaching cheer at MH-MA for 10 years and dance for three, and her dedication shows: the team annually returns from camp with their arms full of awards, winning first for the past four years in the home dance competition and several leadership awards.
Though Lanfermann is originally from St. Joseph, MO, she is part of the Maur Hill - Mount Academy family; she has a husband and father-in-law who both graduated from Maur Hill Prep and three children who graduated from Maur Hill Prep or from Maur Hill - Mount Academy, but she describes the school itself as a family. “When you’re here, you feel comfortable, and I think that is what makes us special.”
